Safari Setup

Once you've received your Expat Pass proxy username and password, Setting up the Safari browser to use it is simple. Just follow the steps below and you'll be surfing the Web from London in minutes.

1. Open your Safari browser and select the small Gear Wheel in the top Right corner of the browser. Show Me!

2. Select Preferences from the new window. Show Me!

3. Select the Advanced tab from the General window. Show Me!

4. Select Change Settings beside Proxies Show Me!

5. If it is not already selected the Connections tab. Show Me!

6. Select "LAN settings" below the Local Area Network (LAN) settings section. Show Me!

Now at last you're in the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings panel where you can configure Safari to use the Expat Pass London Proxy.

7. Before you can enter any data we have to select the Radio button labled "Use a proxy server for your LAN" Show Me!

8. Here we need to:

  • In the Address window, enter www.expatpass.com.
  • In the Port window enter the port number 3128
  • Select the Option Bypass proxy server for local addresses.
  • Click OK to close the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings window Show Me!
    Finally before you get back to the Safari Browser you need to:
  • OK the Internet Properties Window and....
  • Close (X) the Safari Advanced Window

OK now we are really here, your Safari browser is now configured to use the Expat Pass proxy in London. Now when you get back to the browser and attempt to load a page.

9. A final Authentication window will open which is where you can enter your username and password. Hear you simply enter your Expat Pass proxy username and password, click "OK.". Show Me!

Please note that Safari also has a radio button option to remember the username and password - that choice is yours..!
